601 bench

This bench was designed and built for the foyer space in the 601 Prince Street building for the Washington Alexandria Architecture Center.  The piece uses maple hardwood and 4" steel flat bar.  The maple bench top was cut, planed, joined, and laminated in a multi-step process while the steel leg members were bent using four 16' lengths.  The legs were bent and attached via plug welding.
